Dean’s Leadership Award

Dean’s Leadership Award

Caroline Bruzelius, Anne M. Cogan Professor of Art History, has received the 2015-2016 Dean’s Leadership Award. A reception to celebrate award recipients was held Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Doris Duke Center in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens.

The award “recognizes leadership through a distinctive contribution to research, teaching, and service.” The award letter from Valerie S. Ashby, Dean of Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, noted that Bruzelius’ “work in creating the Wired! Lab for Digital Art History & Visual Culture has transformed the teaching and research practice of art history at Duke.” Her courses were recognized as being a “model of hybrid historical and digital research and have served as an inspiration for others.” Bruzelius was described as a visionary mentor, colleague, teacher, and scholar, who has had a far reaching impact on the arts and humanities at Duke and across the wider academic community.

Congratulations, Caroline!
