Art and Architecture of Berlin, Fifteenth to the Twentieth Century. Introduction to the visual arts of Germany from the fifteenth to the twentieth century through lectures conducted in Berlin's museums and cultural institutions. German Old Masters, German Romantic and Realist artists, Modernist art movements, such as Expressionism and New Objectivity, considered in relation to upheavals in modern German history. Taught in English in the Duke-in-Berlin summer program. One course.
