Editing for Film and Video focuses on the use of digital, non-linear techniques through narrative, documentary, and experimental approaches. Students will expand their understanding of editing as both viewers and working editors. Key questions are explored by studying diverse genres, styles, and approaches to film editing. Alongside screenings, readings, and discussions, students will complete several digital video editing projects that are specifically designed to balance practical problem-solving with experimentation. The course will culminate in a final editing project that is tailored to each student's interests. No prior experience is required.
