This interdisciplinary graduate seminar covers Generative Media in all its forms. Students are required to produce two final projects. The first is a creative project examining generative art forms that engage image, music, and text, or at least two of these media. The second is a closely related critical paper of 10–15 pages (double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman) that examines theoretical frameworks informing the creative work. The paper must include footnotes and a bibliography. Together, these two final components—one artistic and one written—are intended to articulate a rigorous theory–practice relationship and to demonstrate sustained engagement with the semester-long final project. Instructor consent required.
