Overview
Robin is a seventh-year PhD candidate whose interests lie at the intersection of modern art and leftist revolutionary politics. Working with Professors Mark Antliff and Paul Jaskot, her current research focuses on anarchism, art education, and children's art within the Modern School movement in the United States. Her academic interests also include anarchist print culture of fin-de-siècle France; she co-curated the exhibition, Anarchism and the Political Art of 'Les Temps Nouveaux' 1895-1914, at the Nasher Museum of Art (Fall 2019).
Robin graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Art History and Political Science from the College of Wooster, where she also earned the Netta Strain Scott Prize in Art History for her thesis examining Camille Pissarro's Les Turpitudes Sociales within a base-superstructure political model. As an undergraduate, she published an article negotiating theories of communism and surrealism in an early work by Alberto Giacometti.
Robin studied curatorial practice at Sotheby's Institute of Art (London) and has held positions at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the College of Wooster Art Museum. She also taught English in Crest, France before coming to Duke.
