Shane Morrissy is a second-year Ph.D. student in art history. His research explores the relationship between subjective engagements with printed mass media and the broader political context of the early 20th century across Europe and the United States. He holds BAs in both Commerce and Art History from University College Dublin as well as an MPhil in Textual and Visual Studies from Trinity College Dublin. Before coming to Duke, he worked at the National Gallery of Ireland. His academic writing has appeared in the Information Design Journal. His advisor is Dr. Paul Jaskot, Professor of Art, Art History & Visual Studies and Director of the Wired! Lab for Digital Art History and Visual Culture.
