Class of 2024
Majors in Art History and Civil Engineering

I am a senior double-majoring in civil engineering and art history. My interest in the built environment led me to pursue the architecture concentration for my art history degree, where I have also worked in the Digital Art History and Visual Culture Lab on the Public Buildings in North Carolina project. After graduation, I would like to pursue a Masters degree in architecture and practice as an architect. I hope to take the knowledge I have gained in my studies at Duke to make engagement with new spaces in the built environment both accessible and user-friendly for all. In my free time, I am a gallery guide at the Nasher Museum of Art and a member of the Museum Undergraduate Student Executive Board, a campus tour guide, and a huge fan of Duke Basketball.

Favorite Course: ARTHIST 285: Modern Architecture with Dr. Annabel Wharton has been my favorite class at Duke. It solidified my plans to pursue the architecture concentration in art history. The class followed the development of “Modern” architecture from Neoclassical Revival to Le Corbusier. Dr. Wharton is an incredible professor who made the class accessible for someone like myself with little knowledge of architectural history. I also made some great friends in that class, including two whom I still text two years later.
