Doctoral candidate Anita Bateman recently completed the 2016 Center for Curatorial Leadership/Mellon Foundation Seminar in Curatorial Practice. The rigorous two-week program was held in New York and introduced art historians at the beginning of their careers to the intricacies of museum practices. Bateman also received notice that her paper, “What Is and Is Not Already There: Violence, Studium, and Punctum in Black Representational Spaces,” was accepted by CAA. She will be presenting on the panel, Blackness, Violence, Representation, in February 2017.
