Advanced Digital Practice

Project-based course focuses on advanced techniques in digital imaging, emphasis on 2D digital design and/or 2D time-based media. Students will develop an exhibition-worthy portfolio: 2D digital imaging and time-based media work accompanied by an artist statement that covers the work in the context of the field. The student's work will be reflective of the development of a unique and independent visual style with a deep understanding of historical and contemporary design. Digital projects will be supplemented with readings, discussions, and sustained artistic critique, relating student work to major movements/debates in art/design. Recommended perquisite: ARTSVIS 206, 223, 381, or instructor consent.
