Art History: Museum Theory & Practice Major

For students interested in pursuing a museum career our department offers a B.A. degree in Art History that focuses on museum theory and practice. This concentration includes thirteen courses in museum theory, curatorial practice, and object study, as well as Art History and the Visual Arts. Students selecting to pursue this concentration will graduate with a major in Art History, with a Concentration in Museum Theory and Practice designated on their official transcripts. 

Required:

  • 13 courses
  • Areas of study include ancient, medieval, Renaissance/Baroque, modern and non-western art history
  • Required: 3 courses including museum theory, practice, and at least one internship
