The Craft of Documentary Fieldwork

An exploration of the practice and ethics of nonfiction filmmaking through hands-on fieldwork and critical analysis of documentary forms. Students will engage with both traditional and experimental approaches to sound and moving image while developing skills in producing and editing their own short films. Emphasis is placed on ethical collaboration with participants and strategies for small-crew production.
