The Dramatic Short Film

The Dramatic Short Film is a hands-on introduction to producing narrative short films. Students learn how to move from concept to a finished dramatic film, from scriptwriting, pre-production, planning and shooting to postproduction. Emphasis is placed on visualizing stories, directing actors, cinematography, sound design and editing. Film analysis, though screenings, readings and reflections, will play a key role in developing students' sensibility of this diverse genre, alongside honing the technical and creative skills needed to compellingly make dramatic concepts come to life on screen.
