August 28 – September 15, 2017

Opening reception

Fragments of summer time spent in the saddle of a faded-blue cyclepro blizzard, between; chanterelles, smoked herring on rye, birdwatching, a birthday party in a Mauritanian nomad tent, listening for the elusive night jar, and jumping from rocks into the Baltic sea.

Laurids Andersen Sonne is a Danish-born interdisciplinary artist. Sonne’s work spans moving image, installation, sculpture, performance, and socially engaged art. Laurids sees art as a tool that can be used for many things: as a catalyst for personal contributions and ameliorations on our surroundings: a way to explore, discover and unfold serious topics about the world around us and the creatures living in it. Sonne holds a BA in social anthropology from Lund University, Sweden and is currently pursuing an MFA in experimental and documentary arts from Duke University.
