Fall 2021
Paul Jaskot, professor of art, art history & and visual studies, and Jasmine Magaña, doctoral student, worked on making ARTHIST 731S, The Bauhaus: Architecture, Design, Politics, more inclusive and comparative, especially in reference to non-European contributions. Magaña developed a reading list as well as additional course components that would significantly expand discussions of Latin American artists and institutions in the course. They agreed on a new framing for the course around comparative international examples of art schools and how that thread might be productively used to help expand the critical focus of the course.
